AVIVA’s Journey to Carbon Net Zero, One EC2 Instance at a Time
In March 2021 AVIVA officially announced that the company aims to achieve Net Zero by 2040. The first milestone on that journey is a 25% reduction in carbon intensity of assets by 2025.
Last year, as part of that goal, AVIVA tech division launched a project to reduce their cloud footprint, starting by improving the observability of their systems to identify compute waste and performance improvement opportunities.
