Natural Language Queries for Logs

Natural Language Queries (NLQ) for Logs enables users to search and analyze logs using natural language. This feature is designed to make log exploration more accessible, intuitive, and efficient, particularly for users unfamiliar with Datadog’s query language.

With NLQ, users can simply describe what they are looking for in plain language, and the system will translate their request into a structured query that retrieves relevant logs. Example queries could look like:

  • “Give me the top 10 services with errors for the last three months”
  • “Show me errors in the last week”
  • “Create a pie chart of error logs by service”
