Datadog’s out-of-the-box integration dashboards are now compatible with both OpenTelemetry and Datadog metrics. For an initial list of supported integrations (including Containers, Kafka, MySQL, HAProxy, Nginx, and more), out-of-the-box dashboards light up with both or either (OTel or Datadog) sets of data.
This feature also allows for semantically equivalent OTel and Datadog metrics to be queried together with the introduction of a new metric querying function, equiv_otel(). This new function can be used to write queries that target both OTel and Datadog data, anywhere metrics are queried in the platform.
