As a recruiter, I hear the words “sales guy” every day. “Tell me about what your sales guys do?” “How are the guys on your team performing against projections?” Etc. The fact of the matter is yes, we have a lot of sales guys–but we also have women on the team, and that number is growing.
In fact, our director of sales is a woman. But we admittedly still have a long way to go in order to reach our internal diversity goals. That’s why we feel strongly about this partnership: it allows us to tackle the problem head-on, giving a platform to women who wish to learn more about the world of sales and tech.
After finding out about AcknowledgeHer through one of our account executives–who launched her career in tech sales through the program–creating a partnership seemed like a natural fit. Together, we are helping women to recognize their potential in sales and helping them prepare for a sales career.
Our partnership involves a series of events which we call “Wine & Wisdom”. Through these events, we will provide insight around effective sales and career navigation practices, directly from sales experts at Datadog and AcknowledgeHer. College students and recent graduates will be able to interact with these experts through networking, panel interviews, and break-out Q&A sessions. We will also provide AcknowledgeHer program interns with on-site learning opportunities at Datadog, and will interview graduates of this program for sales development roles.
Join us on September 21, 2016 at WeWork South Station Boston, as we kick off our first Wine + Wisdom event with AcknowledgeHer.
