With the rise of AI and widespread adoption of platforms like Snowflake and Databricks, trust in data quality has never been more critical to business growth. Developers and data teams are responsible for building business-critical AI applications and data products, and yet they lack the same end-to-end visibility into their data that is available to other teams. That's why we are pleased to announce that Metaplane is joining Datadog.
What is Metaplane?
Metaplane is a data observability platform that provides machine learning–powered monitoring and column-level lineage to detect, resolve, and prevent data quality issues across a company's data stack. Unlike existing tools that only see data after it lands in a data lake or warehouse, Metaplane gives data teams visibility across their full data ecosystem. By continuously monitoring data properties, Metaplane helps teams proactively identify issues before they impact downstream systems and business decisions.
Datadog + Metaplane
This acquisition accelerates Datadog's expansion into data observability, building on our recent launches of Data Jobs Monitoring and Data Streams Monitoring. By unifying observability across applications and data, we're enabling organizations to build reliable data and AI products while bridging the gap between software and data teams.
Metaplane will continue supporting existing customers and welcoming new ones as part of Metaplane by Datadog. Stay tuned for more updates as we work toward bringing what customers love about Metaplane into the Datadog platform.
