In order to better meet organizations’ specific requirements for securing their environments, we are making changes to our Cloud Security Management product. On August 1, Datadog introduced new offerings in Cloud Security Management: CSM Pro and CSM Enterprise. Alongside Datadog Cloud Workload Security, these distinct packages provide customers with security capabilities tailored to their particular use cases and needs.
CSM Pro provides continuous security scanning of your cloud and container environments for misconfigurations and resource vulnerabilities. With CSM Pro, teams across an organization can easily evaluate their infrastructure’s compliance posture in a unified view, identify any problems, and follow built-in remediation steps to improve adherence to common industry frameworks such as CIS, PCI, DSS, and SOC2.
In addition to the capabilities of CSM Pro, CSM Enterprise gives security teams real-time visibility into their org’s production workloads and file activity. This makes it extremely simple for teams to detect and correlate threats, misconfigurations, identity risks, and vulnerabilities during analysis and investigations.

What to expect
We have begun migrating customers to the new offerings based on their current product usage. Here is what existing customers can expect from this process:
- Cloud Workload Security (CWS) customers: CWS will continue to be offered with its current features; CWS customers will not be impacted.
- Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) customers: Existing CSPM contracts will remain valid, but new customers will not be able to purchase CSPM starting in October 2023. At the time of your renewal, we will help you transition to one of our new offerings. CSM Pro, which includes all CSPM features, would be the most appropriate transition. On-demand customers will be auto-migrated to CSM Pro no later than November 1, 2023.
- CWS + CSPM customers: There will be no changes for existing customers of both CWS and CSPM on contract. At the time of your renewal, we will help you transition to CSM Enterprise, which combines the benefits of CWS and CSPM alongside powerful new capabilities. On-demand customers will be auto-migrated to CSM Enterprise no later than November 1, 2023.
